FIRE INSPECTOR
PAY RANGE: $54,971 - $79,284/YR

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under limited supervision, performs technical and specialized
inspection work examining buildings for life safety, building
construction and specifications to determine compliance with the
Town Fire Prevention Code. Is responsible for coordinating all
field inspections. Reports to Fire Chief. The selection process
may include successfully meeting the Town’s minimum standards of
each of the following: background investigation, final selection
interview(s), psychological and/or personality/suitability
examination, deception detection examination(s), medical
examination and screening for controlled substance usage.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from high school and two years experience as a
firefighter and/or a fire inspector preferred; or any equivalent
combination of training and experience which provides the
required skills, knowledge and abilities. EMT Certification
preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold a current Florida Certificate of Compliance as a
Firefighter. Must possess a State of Florida Fire Inspector
Certificate. Broward County Fire Inspector Certificate and valid
Physical Ability Test must be provided at time of employment.
Must possess a valid Class “E” Florida driver's license. Must
provide seven (7) year driving history profile from the
Courthouse. No internet copies will be accepted
