Dear Fire Authority...

Thank you for the suggestions regarding formatting and distribution of the weekly fire reports.

The Division of Hotels and Restaurants is currently sending these reports to over 400 individuals in all 67 Florida counties and numerous jurisdictions. Unfortunately, it is not possible to customize these reports for each jurisdiction. Microsoft Excel is being used because it allows the user to sort and filter the information provided. A tip for modifying the reports in Excel:

1. Choose Column B (click on the B)

2. From the menu at the top, choose Data > Filter > Autofilter

3. In Column B, you will see that there is now a down arrow. Click on that.

4. Choose the county you want from the list (e.g., Sarasota).

Now the list should have filtered out everything but that county for printing. This feature can also be used on other columns to filter by city, zip code, etc. Choose the square in the upper left-hand corner to choose all columns and then do step 2 above to use multiple filters.

After the information is filtered, you can copy the resulting data to another format for printing if this is easier.

Right click on the report name and click "Save Target As" to download the report.
