A Day of Learning Fire Alarms and Rapid Access:

Fire Alarm Plan Review - 2 hrs.

Fire Alarms: Myths, Misunderstandings, & Missed Opportunities - 2 hrs.

Rapid Access Challenges Trends and New Technologies - 4 hr.

Fire Alarm Plan Review Basics: This course will cover the system requirements for Fire Alarm Panels, in NFPA 101, as well as the requirements for drawings in NFPA 71 and 61G. Discussion will also be had on the requirements of the location and spacing of initiating and notification devices. The course will also cover monitoring of systems and special requirements and devices.

Fire Alarm Myths: This class is designed to get the average fire inspector exposure to new rules, regulations and statutes regarding fire alarms and their requirements.  It is also designed to give the inspector a basic knowledge of issues occurring with the enforcement of NFPA 70 and the implementation of NFPA 72.

Rapid Access: Topics to be covered include: How Rapid Access plays a role with new industry challenges, the Growing Trend of Multi-Jurisdictional Response, how has COVID Impacted Response Strategies, the Impact of EV Charging Station Growth in Florida, the Importance of Asset Tracking, Response Challenges to Growth of Seniors, Being Prepared for the Increase of Carbon Monoxide (CO) Incidents, and What Should the Fire Industry and future leaders keep an eye on.

Eight contact hours approved for Fire and Life Safety Educator, Fire Code Administrator, Fire Investigator I and II, and Fire Safety Inspector I and II, with this course.
