Elevator Information for Fire and Building Authorities
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This eight hour basic course is to provide education for Fire and Emergency Personnel on elevator operation and effective codes, which will include the following:
¨ Update on current local Statutes and Administrative Codes governing elevators.
¨ Changes in ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators as it relates to emergency operations.
¨ Changes in NFPA Codes that affect elevator equipment.
¨ Review of 2017 Florida Building Codes - changes to Elevator requirements.
¨ Operation of elevators during fire and other emergencies
¨ Rescue of persons trapped in elevators
(8 Contact Hours approved for Fire Code Administrator, Fire Safety Inspector and Instructor I, II, III)
