Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association Presents

Legal Liability for Fire Code Officials - 3 hr.

Instructor : Ray Walker Retired Fire Marshal

 (3 Contact hours approved for Fire Code Administrator, Fire Safety Inspector and Fire Service Instructors)

This class utilizes the important general principles of law. The class will focus on how to recognize common elements of liability, doing the job to avoid exposure to liability, and how to utilize possible defenses. The class will examine the protections of immunity and its changing characteristics. The class will look at the importance of report writing for inspection and investigations.
