Incorporating Drones in the Fire Investigation - 2 hrs.
This course will go over the use of alternative visual aspects of using an Unmanned Aerial System for fire and explosion investigations including the use of Thermal Imaging, varied exposures, video vs photos, and issues that may arise from the use as well as Airspace issues that may be encountered.
* Learn about airspace issues that could arise from the use of an UAS
* Learn about the use of Thermal Imaging on the investigation of explosions and fire scenes
* Gain an understanding of utilizing different exposure lengths in areas inaccessible by personnel or equipment
* learn the pros and cons for public service agencies when utilizing Digital Video vs Photos.
This class has been approved for two (2) hours of CEUs for Fire Code Administrator, and Fire Safety Inspector I&II.

Stacy McIntyre began his law enforcement career in 2002 as a Patrol Deputy with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office. In 2006 he moved to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement where he served as a uniform patrol officer and Security Agent for the Speaker of the House and Governor’s Mansion.
In the Fall of 2007, Stacy joined the Department of Financial Services, Criminal Investigations Division (CID), as a Detective in the Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives
(BFAE). In his capacity as a Detective, he obtained his Fire Investigator I and II Certifications and served as the evidence custodian, heavy equipment operator, general and high liability instructor, fire service instructor, and team member of the Special Response Team (SRT). He was promoted to Lieutenant of the Lake Wales Field Office in March of 2011. During that time, he was placed in charge of hotel security for dignitaries for the Republican National Convention in 2012, led multiple hurricane deployments and SRT responses, and served as the regional PIO for the South Central BFAE. He also currently serves as the UAS Commander and previously has served as the Assistant Commander of the SRT in which he led operations for the Margaritagrille fire in Citrus County, and the Mall Explosion in Plantation. He has coordinated many high-profile investigations within the South Central BFAE Region involving serial arsons, burning/scheming to defraud, and insurance fraud.
In January of 2022 he promoted to Captain over the Bureau of Insurance Fraud where he remained for two years until returning to his roots in BFAE transferring to the Northwest region of BFAE and now serves as the Captain/Regional Commander.
Stacy Graduated from Tallahassee Community College in 2005, the Southern Police Institute Command Officer Development Course in 2018, received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy award in 2020, and is nationally certified as a Fire Investigator and Fire Service Instructor.
